Q: What do I look for in quality metalwork?

A: At Nocturnal Designz Inc., we use modern and traditional techniques to create the finished metal pieces that you see. Solid or tube metal is heated to a yellow/orange coloured temperature and hand hammered to create shapes, such as the metal balls that decorate the tops of the canopy poles on the bed and the intricate patterns that adorn the headboards and table legs. This process is very hot, labour intensive, and takes great skill, precision, and patience… one wrong hammer hit and you could end up with a crooked chunk of useless metal!
